Hurricanes and animals
I haven't written in a long time because I've been so stressed out about the aftermath of Hurrican Katrina that I have put most of my online time into reading about this terrible disaster. Like most of the nation, I feel that this is an unbelievable tragedy that could have, and should have, been prevented. However, I have been most devastated by the animal situation. Many pets were just left by their owners! I can't imagine leaving Madeline, she's a dear to me as any child could be!!
With that said, I understand that how in the hell are you supposed to get your animal out if you can't even afford to get yourself out? Much has been said about all of this, and I'm not going to continue bashing our ineffective government and worthless president. Sad though how the guy who's supposed to run the nation's response to natural disasters not only padded his resume, but apparently got the job by being the college roommate of the guy who ran President Bush's first campaign.
OK, here's the important links to help the animals:
ASPCA
Humane Society of the United States
United Animal Nations
Noah's Wish
